Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Wednesday that a 45-year-old Broward County man had been convicted on charges tied to cocaine trafficking.
Teddy McCall Jr. was convicted of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, and two counts related to owning, leasing, or renting a space used for trafficking drugs.
The conviction followed a three-week jury trial.
According to officials, the charges stemmed from McCall’s role in operating a cocaine trafficking organization that relied on family members to distribute drugs across South Florida.
“This convicted criminal made drug trafficking into a family business,” James Uthmeier said in a statement issued by his office. “Thanks to the relentless work of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners, he will face a well-deserved mandatory minimum prison sentence.”
McCall is scheduled to return to court on June 29 for sentencing.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 13 years in the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.
