Multi-state drug trafficking takedown leads to charges against 19 individuals

A large multi-state drug trafficking crackdown resulted in indictments against 19 individuals, according to federal officials.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia announced in a press conference in Martinsburg on Tuesday that 13 individuals were arrested in Maryland and West Virginia in connection with the large narcotics bust. According to police, the remaining six individuals are still at large. We were able to gather evidence, execute search warrants, and administer justice appropriately to protect our communities,” FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a news release. “We took no shortcuts.”

Two drug trafficking networks sold cocaine and cocaine base in Berkeley and Jefferson counties in West Virginia over a two-year period, using various locations to store and deliver the contraband, according to two charges.

According to officials, one operation was led by Rohan Broadie, also known as “Glama G,” Aneteneh Zewde Terfe, and Marvin Taaff. All three come from Maryland. Members of this organization have been suspected of employing firearms to support their trafficking activities and handling huge sums of cash in drug revenues. Omari Obeng Stewart has also been accused of traveling between Maryland and West Virginia to supply, coordinate, and distribute cocaine and cocaine base.

The second group, headed by West Virginia brothers Jorfory and Joroy Twyman, trafficked more than 500 grams of cocaine and cocaine base.

Investigators seized tens of thousands of cash, cocaine, and luxury things allegedly acquired with criminal revenues. “Removing this drug operation from our communities in two states means ridding our neighborhoods of the poison and violence that tears families apart,” FBI Pittsburgh Special Agent in Charge Richard Evanchec said in a news release. “Months of painstaking investigative work conducted by every partner agency led to unleashing the full force of the law to destroy this network fueling violence and addiction.”

Of the 19 individuals charged, eight are from West Virginia and six from Maryland. Anyone with knowledge about the inquiry is encouraged to contact their local law enforcement office.
