AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Water Supply Bureau issued a boil water advisory for parts of Portage Lakes following a water main break.
The break occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. Thursday on Falcon Court at Raceside Drive, causing water pressure to drop. Workers isolated the break by 7 a.m., restoring normal pressure.
As a precaution, the boil advisory is for the following areas:
- Ponciana Avenue: from Portage Lakes Drive to Portage Point Boulevard
- Portage Point Boulevard: from Portage Lakes Drive to the dead end
- Fan Drive: From Portage Point Boulevard to the dead-end
- Portage Lakes Drive: From Manchester Road to S. Turkeyfoot Road.
- Saunders Avenue: From Portage Lakes Drive to Malley Avenue
- Cormany Road: From Manchester Road to Portage Lakes Drive
- Manchester Road: From Carnegie Avenue to Hyfield Avenue
- State Road: From Manchester Road to 3783 State Road
- Robinson Avenue: From Manchester Road to Cormany Road
- 710 and 711 Senn Drive
- 3037 S. Prior Road (only address on S. Prior Road)
All customers should bring water to a full boil for at least two minutes and then returned to proper temperatures before use.
Repairs are set to be completed Thursday afternoon.
