Mystery continues to surround the death of a Missouri nurse who was married to a well-known anesthesiologist.
Alexandra “Allie” Hummel, 36, was found unresponsive at her home on Lone Cedar Trail in New London on June 23 after investigators responded to a 911 call.
The Ralls County Sheriff’s Office said the coroner requested an autopsy.
Records show Hummel was a licensed nurse in Missouri, while her husband, Dr. Andrew Hummel, is a licensed anesthesiologist.
Fox News Digital contacted Hummel’s husband, who declined to comment on the investigation.
Court records show that in March 2026, he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.
He was initially arrested in July 2025 on allegations that he strangled and struck a woman, described as someone with whom he was “in a continuing relationship of romantic nature,” in the face.
According to LinkedIn, Dr. Hummel is currently self-employed through his own company, Northern Ozark Anesthesia Solutions, LLC.
He most recently worked at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Andrew Hummel has not been accused of any crime or wrongdoing in his wife’s death.
Hummel would have celebrated her 37th birthday, on July 7.
The investigation into Hummel’s death is ongoing.
