A man was taken into custody on Tuesday in connection with a gunshot earlier this month in Louisville’s Russell area, which left another man hospitalized.
Reginald Basel, 35, was charged with first-degree assault and possessing a handgun while a felon.
According to Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Adam Sears, officers arrived to the 1400 Block of West Jefferson Street around 3:03 p.m. on July 10 in response to reports of a shooting.
When authorities arrived, they discovered a man shot in the leg. The man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The arrest citation for Basel was not immediately accessible.
The investigation is underway.
