Lakeland Man Apprehended After Late-night Backdoor Sprint From Polk County Deputies

A 61-year-old Lakeland man with an active warrant was apprehended Wednesday night after a brief foot pursuit, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived at a house on Thomasville Circle at 10:45 p.m. on July 22, 2026, in search of Brian Keith Digrazia. Digrazia was wanted on an active warrant for probation violation related to underlying accusations of amphetamine trafficking, driving with a suspended licence, and tampering with evidence.

Authorities said deputies heard a male voice inside the apartment while standing at the front door. Digrazia bolted from the back of the house a few moments later.

Deputies pursued Digrazia on foot and arrested him shortly after the chase began.

Digrazia was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with resisting an officer without violence after escaping from deputies.

According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office records, Digrazia has a prior criminal history that includes charges for grand theft, trafficking stolen property, burglary, robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and multiple narcotics violations.
