The Mogadore Police Department charged three teenagers last week with a string of vehicle break-ins.
According to a police release, residents claimed that seven vehicles were broken into in the late evening hours on August 18.
Before reports were filed that night, cops stopped three minors who had been out past curfew and obtained positive identification before returning them to their parents.
According to authorities, all three were 15 years old at the time of the break-ins, and charges were brought against them following the investigation.
Police said the sole item reported stolen was a wallet, but an investigation indicated that the youngsters targeted unlocked automobiles parked on streets and driveways.
The only force utilized to “break in” to the automobiles was to open unlocked doors.
Mogadore Police remind residents of the city’s curfew, which runs from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Todd Higgins stated in the statement that he is a firm believer that proactive enforcement of laws and ordinances sends a message to those who want to endanger public safety or victimize residents.
