The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an adult woman was found dead on the side of the road on Tuesday morning.
According to investigations, at 7:39 a.m. on September 22, 2026, a deputy was driving through the neighborhood of Sligh Avenue and 78th Street when he noticed an unresponsive female lying along the road. Officials stated that she had no evident symptoms of injury at the site.
Deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue officials arrived to the scene, where emergency services discovered the woman had died.
Sheriff’s officials have not published her identity or the cause of death, citing an ongoing investigation.
