A child was shot near a West Side park on Tuesday evening, according to Chicago police.
A 12-year-old child was shot on the Near West Side neighborhood’s 2200-block of West Maypole Avenue shortly after 5 p.m., according to police. The victim, who was grazed in the thigh, was sent to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Police claimed the origin of the gunfire was unknown.
Detectives in the area are conducting an investigation. Authorities did not immediately release more details regarding the shooting.
