A former Brunswick daycare worker was sentenced Tuesday to over 20 years in prison for crimes against children, according to Hinckley police.
According to court documents, Faith Morris, a 20-year-old woman from Hinckley, pled guilty last month to the following charges:
- Four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person
- One count of sexual battery
- Eight counts of illegal use of minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance
- One count of gross sexual imposition
- According to police, Morris was a former employee of a Brunswick daycare center.
Hinckley police stated their investigation began when the department received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force about suspected online child sexual abuse material.
According to authorities, the investigation resulted in a search warrant for Morris’ residence and her arrest.
The Hinckley Police Department discovered “unrelated child sexual abuse material” while conducting an investigation at her house.
During an interview with a Hinckley detective, Morris revealed details regarding her interactions with the daycare children. Police say the information was shared with Brunswick detectives.
According to court records, Judge William F. Hutson sentenced Morris to 20 to 24.5 years in prison.
While no sentence can undo the harm caused, we hope this outcome provides some measure of justice for the children and families affected.
