A fisher man was arrested Wednesday morning in Evansville and faces a slew of charges.
Jacob A. Robertson, 37, was arrested and charged with three charges of forgery, four counts of theft, two counts of fraud, one act of auto theft, and one crime of financial institution fraud.
According to police, the investigation began in March after a woman had various goods stolen from her car at the Chick-fil-A on the west side.
An affidavit claims that the victim’s wallet, iPad, Dell laptop, and $150 in cash were taken.
Shortly after, the victim received notification from her credit union that her stolen card had been used to make a $400+ purchase at Walmart.
After reimbursing the monies, the credit union was named a victim, resulting in a financial loss.
A few months later, another investigation was launched after another woman’s car was broken into during a dog show.
The items included $1,000 in gift cards, luggage and purses, $1,400 in cash, shoes, an Apple laptop and iPad, and other stuff.
The overall loss was expected to exceed $6,500.
Police said they identified Robertson as the suspect after reviewing security footage from both events.
According to police, a lady who has not yet been detained assisted Robertson during the heist at the dog show.
Robertson had four current felony warrants, three from Vanderburgh County and one from Warrick County, when the inquiry began earlier this year.
Since last year, he has been identified as a suspect in 11 occurrences in the EPD Record Management System.
According to police, he has past convictions for theft, fraud, forgery, and resisting law enforcement.
He is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $5,250 bond.
