In its October 24, 2025 update, the NOAA Climate Prediction Center signaled a warm, dry kickoff to November across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. Above-normal temperatures paired with below-average rainfall should make for easy travel and pleasant outdoor plans through the first half of the month, with little hint of any early-season snow.

That calm pattern may not last. Forecasters are tracking a series of cold fronts dropping south from the Midwest that could briefly knock temperatures down between November 18 and 25. Inland areas from Birmingham to Baton Rouge may start the day with frosty conditions, while coastal zones are expected to stay comparatively mild.

If the colder pattern strengthens heading into the holiday, interior parts of the region could notch their first freeze of the season just before Thanksgiving. For now, the Gulf Coast remains firmly in fall mode—but one robust front is all it would take to make late November feel like winter overnight.
