Hastings, NE — Early Saturday, the National Weather Service office in Hastings broadened its Dense Fog Advisory across much of south‑central Nebraska, reporting that visibility has fallen to less than a quarter mile in numerous locations.

The advisory is active until 11 a.m. CDT and covers Adams, Hall, Clay, Hamilton, and Kearney counties. Drivers should be prepared for sudden shifts in visibility, use low‑beam headlights, and keep extra space between vehicles.

Officials recommend slowing down and planning for additional travel time, especially along Interstate 80, U.S. Highway 281, and rural roads throughout the region. As temperatures rise, the fog is expected to thin and dissipate by late morning.

No other hazardous weather is anticipated today, but caution is advised during the early commute.
