Tulsa, OK — The National Weather Service in Tulsa reports that waves of showers and pockets of thunderstorms will continue to move across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas through Saturday night.

Rain won’t be steady everywhere, but multiple rounds are expected. Most areas can anticipate 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rainfall, with a few spots prone to brief flooding—especially in low-lying locations and places with poor drainage.

The likelihood of thunderstorms climbs this afternoon and evening. A short-lived strong to marginally severe storm is possible. The main concern is hail up to the size of quarters, with additional threats including wind gusts up to 50 mph and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.

Showers will diminish Sunday morning as the system shifts east. Temperatures will remain close to seasonal norms, and drier air is forecast to arrive by late Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with outdoor plans should keep a close eye on changing conditions and head indoors immediately if thunder is heard.
