Eight people in the Baltimore area are facing charges stemming from a multi-agency investigation into a narcotics trafficking network in North Baltimore.
Omar Gilliam, 43, Derrell Washington-Coates, 42, Kevin Harris, 34, and Darren Farmer, 36, are all charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute prohibited narcotics such as heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine.
Stephen Oliver, 38, faces charges of distribution and possession with the intent to supply prohibited drugs.
Gilliam and Oliver are also charged with gun trafficking and possessing a gun as a prohibited person since they both have a past felony conviction.
Eddie Lewis, Dearmas Horton, and Diane Horton are charged with illegal gun possession as well as possession with the intent to distribute controlled narcotics.
According to the criminal complaint, between August 2025 and March 2026, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) utilized a confidential informant to purchase drugs from Gilliam, Harris, and Washington-Coates.
In October 2025, the ATF utilized a second confidential informant to purchase drugs from the same men.
Two months later, in December 2025, the second informant started buying narcotics and guns from Oliver, followed by guns from Gilliam in March 2026.
Farmer began providing drugs to that informant in January 2026, according to officials.
Law officials said they made 15 controlled purchases from Gilliam, two of which featured firearms.
Washington-Coates was involved in seven of the controlled purchases, while Harris participated in one.
Officials stated that they made eight controlled purchases from Oliver, two separate sales of weapons, and three controlled purchases from Farmer, some of which implicated Gilliam and Harris.
Authorities continued to monitor the persons involved in drug trafficking operations in various Baltimore-area sites.
On April 8, 2026, four of the men were detained on federal charges, and federal search warrants were executed at three locations: the 500 block of Sheridan Avenue, another Baltimore residence, and a Baltimore County home.
Today, April 15, Farmer was arrested.
During the arrests and searches, police seized weapons and roughly 400 grams of suspected drugs.
Kelly O. Hayes, the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, announced the accusations on Wednesday.
The eight people will now face charges stemming from their involvement in the narcotics trafficking operation.
