A local resident won a $1 million top prize in a Texas Lottery scratch ticket game after purchasing the winning ticket at a neighborhood market.
According to the Texas Lottery, the winning ticket originated from the scratch ticket game 200X The Cash and was purchased at Times Market, 1910 S. Hackberry St., in San Antonio. The claimant decided to remain anonymous.
According to the Texas Lottery, the store may be eligible for a $10,000 incentive under the store incentive Program if they sell the winning ticket.
The Texas Lottery stated this was the second of four $1 million top prizes won in the game. The game has more than $103 million in total prizes, with the overall odds of winning any prize being one in 3.88, including break-even rewards.
The Texas Lottery’s functions and activities are overseen by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Texas Lottery claims that since the first ticket was sold in 1992, it has produced more than $42.6 billion in revenue for the state and distributed more than $97.5 billion in prizes. Since 1997, it has given about $36.6 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas.
According to the Texas Lottery, certain proceeds help state initiatives such as the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. Since the first veterans-themed scratch ticket game started in 2009, the agency has donated more than $301.3 million to initiatives that benefit Texas veterans.
According to the Texas Lottery, players must be at least 18 years old to purchase a ticket or enter a promotional second-chance drawing.
