1 man dead and another injured after two-vehicle crash in Huron County

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a tragic two-vehicle incident happened in Huron County on Friday afternoon, leaving one man and injuring another.

Around 4:30 p.m., Scott A. Wilkes of West Salem was driving east on Dublin Road in Bronson Township when he failed to yield at a stop sign on New State Road.

Wilkes, 53, was driving a Chevrolet Impala when he was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado truck.

Wilkes was taken to a local hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries. The truck driver, a 44-year-old Norwalk man, suffered minor injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The Norwalk Post of the Oregon State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The Norwalk Fire Department, North Central EMS, Wilcox Towing, and Interstate Towing all aided the OSHP at the incident.
