A Frederick couple is celebrating a $50,000 Maryland Lottery victory after purchasing a scratch-off at the Giant, located at 18331 Leaman Farm Road, Germantown.
According to MD Lottery, the wife initially believed she had won $50,000 but was unsure until her husband proved the ticket was a top prize winner. The pair, who claimed the prize on July 10, said they want to use part of the money for a vacation and the remainder to save. The winning ticket was one of the store’s last five $5 Money Maker scratch-offs, all of which she purchased. She also attributed a lucky quarter she keeps on her bedside with helping her scratch the winning ticket.
The Germantown Giant will be awarded a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
