Authorities on Tuesday released the identity of the body discovered by a Phoenix resident in their yard last week.
The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased as 42-year-old Lillian Eileen Samarripas.
Around 9:45 a.m. on July 6, officers went to a report of a dead person near Seventh Street and Alta Vista Road.
Police have not provided any details about Samarripas’ cause of death, which police previously stated the Maricopa County Medical Examiner was investigating.
Her family described Samarripas’ death as a “unexpected loss” on a GoFundMe page.
“We don’t even have all the answers which makes this so much harder and confusing for us…she was a daughter, a sister, a friend and someone who deserved love, compassion and hope,” the Samarripas family stated.
