A Cassopolis man will serve at least six years in prison following a deadly shooting in Dowagiac.
Demorrio Lowes, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, was sentenced to 6 to 15 years on Friday.
According to police, Lowes shot a 19-year-old Benton Harbor man during an argument at a party last July.
The victim eventually died.
Open murder and criminal firearm charges were dropped.
Lowe’s received credit for 352 days already served.
