Police will increase patrols Tuesday in the area where a theft suspect fled from officers Monday evening.
Bath Township police reported that a suspect stole from a Fairlawn store at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Officers observed the vehicle and pursued it briefly, according to authorities.
After a traffic stop, a passenger fled on foot, while the driver was apprehended on the scene.
Bath Township police, together with officers from the City of Fairlawn, Richfield Village, Copley Township, and the Medina County Sheriff’s Department, conducted a “extensive” search of the region Monday evening, using drone technology, a police canine team, and more people.
The suspect has not been located, and police believe he is not in the immediate area.
Police described him as a man in his early twenties with long brown hair, who was last seen wearing blue shorts and no top.
