According to Cowboy State Daily, a 15-year-old Wyoming girl was safely returned home on Monday, while a 36-year-old Arizona man was taken into custody on several crimes in two states, including sexual exploitation of a child.
At 9:55 a.m. Monday, a 15-year-old girl from Sundance, Wyoming, was reported missing. The report occurred during an ongoing child grooming investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, requiring an immediate reaction from law authorities.
Fortunately, the girl was safely discovered in Mitchell, South Dakota, less than five hours after the initial report. The male suspect was apprehended without incident after receiving aid from FBI agents.
Dalton Renollet, 36, of Maricopa, Arizona, is being held at the Davison County Jail on eight combined counts from Wyoming and South Dakota. Renollet is charged in South Dakota with having sexual contact with a kid under the age of 16. In Wyoming, the charges are even more serious: three counts of grooming a kid for a sexual offense, two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, one act of criminal interference with custody, and one count of third-degree sexual abuse of a minor, all felonies.
As of Wednesday, September 2, Dalton Renollet was still being held at the Davison County Jail in Mitchell, South Dakota. Additional federal charges are expected in Wyoming and South Dakota. Renollet could face 74 years in jail in Wyoming if he is sentenced consecutively.
