An 8-year-old child was discovered dead Wednesday morning on Indianapolis’ east side.
Southeast District officers responded to a home on Bancroft Street, near English and Emerson Avenues, around 7 a.m.
The girl was unresponsive when authorities arrived and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Police are investigating how she died.
