The Chihuahua State Secretary of Public Safety announced the arrest of a man in his late thirties who was found using a drone to perform unlawful surveillance near the border wall.

Gerardo Adrian F. R., 37, was arrested after Border Patrol agents informed the Sentinel security system operations in Juarez to a “unauthorized drone flying near the border wall”.

Members of the Mexican National Guard, the Chihuahua State Secretary of Public Safety, and Mexican military personnel responded to the area near Puerto de Anapra after Sentinel technology indicated Gerardo Adrian’s whereabouts.

Officers claimed that he attempted to “get rid of binoculars, a drone battery, and a pair of replacement drone propellers” when they arrived.

Gerardo Adrian attempted to leave, but cops apprehended him.

He apparently “threw punches” at the officers while also insulting them.
