An Arizona man was detained after being found driving more than 100 mph with a revoked license; the justification he told the trooper for speeding was deemed unsatisfactory by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
A trooper was driving along SR-95 near Lake Havasu City when he saw a white Chevrolet Silverado speeding. According to DPS, the radar registered 110 mph in a 65-mph zone.
When the trooper stopped the vehicle, the driver was asked why he was driving so fast. According to DPS, the driver allegedly said, “I have to poop.”
The diver gave the officer an Arizona ID card, and when the trooper asked if he had a license, the man replied it was suspended due to a DUI.
He “had a warrant, expired vehicle registration, and several suspensions/revocations for DUIs and failure to pay for criminal offenses,” according to the department’s records.
The man was arrested for criminal speeding, driving with a revoked license, and having an outstanding warrant.
The automobile was impounded for twenty days.
