A man was discovered shot to death on a South Side sidewalk Friday night.
Chicago police stated that just before 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East 71st Street in the Greater Grand Crossing area to investigate allegations of a shooting. When cops arrived, they discovered an unresponsive 49-year-old man on the sidewalk.
Paramedics arrived and discovered the man had been shot in the cheek and shoulder. According to authorities, the man was brought to the University of Chicago Hospital and later died.
Area One detectives are investigating.
No other information was released.
