A teenager is dead and another was hospitalized following a shooting near a southwest Columbus apartment complex Wednesday evening.
At 5:48 p.m., Columbus police reported a shooting in the 700 block of Canonby Place, near the Scioto Townhomes complex.
At 6:16 p.m., one of the victims, Deniro Arnold, 15, was pronounced dead. A second victim, a 19-year-old, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
Police at the site claimed the gunshot could have been the result of a botched robbery.
