NYPD seeks man accused of secretly recording woman on Midtown subway escalator

Police have released photos of a suspect wanted in connection with the unlawful surveillance of a woman at a Manhattan subway station. Authorities say the incident happened around 11:25 a.m. on Oct. 23 at the Lexington Avenue–53rd Street station.

A 32-year-old woman was riding an escalator when a man approached from behind and allegedly placed an electronic device beneath her skirt. He fled immediately after the encounter. No injuries were reported.

Investigators described the man as last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and black shoes, and carrying a blue backpack.
