25-year-old man killed in early morning shooting in Cleveland’s Garden Valley neighborhood

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the city’s Garden Valley neighborhood early Monday morning.

According to police, Fourth District officers responded to the 7100 block of Garden Valley Avenue around 2:49 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Cleveland EMS transported the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Ja Quan J. Cummings.

Officials said the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate the shooting.
