A Memorial Day shooting that left one person injured led to the arrest of four teenagers on Cleveland’s west side, police said.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of West 28th Street and Detroit Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.Police said officers arrived to find an overturned vehicle abandoned at the scene. During the initial investigation, authorities discovered the flipped car had been reported stolen.
After further investigation, police tracked down four male teenagers — a 15-year-old, two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old — and arrested them in connection with the shooting and crash.
Police said officers also recovered two guns from the scene.
Authorities said the 15-year-old suspect had been shot and was transported to a hospital by Cleveland EMS.
Investigators have not determined what sparked the shooting, and detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland police at 216-623-5200.
