2 discovered dead inside Phoenix apartment after family requests welfare check

Two people were discovered dead inside a Phoenix apartment over the weekend after a concerned family member requested a welfare check, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Phoenix police said officers rushed to an apartment complex at 27th Avenue and Indian School Road around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th.

A family member had contacted authorities to report that they hadn’t heard from a relative in several days.

When authorities got at the complex, they glanced through a window and spotted what seemed to be a body.

Police then entered the flat and discovered the dead of a man and a woman.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, both remains were decomposing.

Due to the state of the remains, murder detectives were dispatched to the scene to take over the investigation.

The bodies have been brought into custody by the Office of the Medical Examiner, which will undertake post-mortem tests to identify the exact causes of death.

Police say the circumstances surrounding the deaths are still under investigation.
